He investigates the structure of molecules and the mechanisms of the reactions in which they are involved. Radom was co-author of Ab initio molecular orbital theory (1996), a key reference in its field. He was Professor in the School of Chemistry at the University of Sydney from 2003 to 2014, having previously held the Chair of Chemistry at the Australian National University. Radom has received numerous awards for his research. He has served as President of Australian and international organisations including the Australian and the Asic-Pacific Associations of Computational and Theoretical Chemists.
