AACR2 Manufacturer H. J. Huckson designed a diecasting machine for which the first Australian patent was granted for this type of unit. The machine was used to cast a range of aluminium-bronze alloy articles such as gas taps, hardware fittings and bronze nuts and bolts. The company with which he was associated began life as N.J. Huckson and Co. of Wagga Wagga, New South Wales, was re-established in Melbourne as Huckson Diecastings in 1929 and in 1977 won the AZDA Award for Distinction for a redesigned diecast soap holder which greatly increased productivity and profit.
