In this role she worked on numerous projects including the examination of the effects of environment and nutrition on the growth and development of underprivileged children; tried to alleviate iron deficiency in mothers brought on by malnutrition and poverty during the Depression; and investigated haemoglobin levels in infants and methods of providing iron supplements. Prior to this Kincade was a demonstrator and assistant in bacteriology at the University of Melbourne, then resident medical officer at the Melbourne Hospital.
