He was a partner in the consulting engineering practice Cameron McNamara, and later Chair and Joint Managing Director, Cameron McNamara Pty Ltd; Director, Kinhill Limited and Chair, Kinhill Cameron McNamara Pty Ltd. From 1991 he was a consultant in the fields of arbitration and engineering.
