In the late 1940s he bought the Pioneer organisation and ran a regular interstate bus service. He was an aviator, Chairman and Managing Director of Ansett Transport Industries Ltd., Ansett Airlines of Australia and its other subsidiaries. At one stage he was a Director of Diners Club Ltd., Bic (Australia) Ltd., and Associated Securities Ltd.
