 English AACR2 Anglo-American Cataloguing Rules Person created 2001-05-10 human Helen Morgan updated 2019-12-13 human https://www.eoas.info/biogs/P003274b.htm person Lloyd Stephen Henry AACR2 1992 Meteorologist Steve Lloyd worked for the Bureau of Meteorology for 36 years, pioneering the meteorological aspects for the aerial spraying of crops, and acting as Regional Director of the Tasmania, Victoria and New South Wales offices.

Lloyd served in the RAAF Meteorological Service 1940-1945 and spent two years with the Australian Chemical Defence Unit at Proserpine where he was involved with the investigation and countering of irritant and poisonous gases. After the war he worked in the Central Analysis Office (CAO) of the Bureau of Meteorology, from 1959, and became acting Officer-in-Charge of the CAO until 1961. In 1962 he moved to Co-ordination and Planning. Between 1960 and 1974 he acted as Regional Director in three regional offices - Tasmania, Victoria and New South Wales. In 1974 he transferred to head External Relations. From then until retirement in 1976 Lloyd spent short periods acting as Assistant Director Management.
