<abstract>Walter Dwyer worked for the Bureau of Meteorology for 41 years, mainly in areas allied to aviation, retiring in December 1967 as Superintending Meteorologist, Forecasting and Information Branch. He was educated at Perth Technical College, was appointed a Companion of the Imperial Service Order (ISO) for outstanding services to meteorology and was elected a Fellow of the Royal Meteorological Society (FMS).</abstract>
