Study of introduced trout, Department of Internal Affairs, New Zealand; research on the diet of Adélie penguins, Antarctica; work on the Whistling Swan; studies in the Aleutian Islands; NSW Department of the Environment 1972; in charge of a unit conducting wildlife surveys on crown lands, Victorian Department of Fisheries and Wildlife 1973-94, developing a database of over 2 million records as a basis for the Atlas of Victorian Wildlife, which included the Atlas of Victorian Birds (Emison et al. 1987). He also undertook species-specific studies, including the Peregrine Falcon.
