<abstract>George Lauri worked for the Great Boulder Perseverance Gold Mine, Fimiston, Western Australia 1908-1949, being manager of the reorganised and renamed company, Kalgurli Ore Treatment Co. from 1938. He was associated with the conversion of the treatment plant in 1934 from the brown-cyanide process to a process involving flotation, roasting and cyanidation.</abstract>
<p>Born Boston, USA, 1884?. Died 5 June 1949. Educated Melbourne Working Men's College (later Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology) (diploma in mining engineering and metallurgy). Cassilis Gold Mine, Victoria (2 years), Broken Hill Proprietary, New South Wales, surveyor, Great Boulder Perseverance Gold Mine, Fimiston, Western Australia 1908-12, chief chemist and assayer 1912-18, metallurgist and mill superintendent 1918-38, manager, Kalgurli Ore Treatment Co. 1938-49.</p>
