<abstract>Frederick Wunderlich was a co-founder of the firm which became known as Wunderlich Ltd - specialists in terracotta products. At first all products were imported but from 1910 local produced was established at the Wunderlich works in Brunswick, Victoria. The firm grew into a highly successful company with branches in all Australian States and in Wellington, New Zealand. Wunderlich Ltd was the first Australian firm to introduce a 44 hour week without a pay reduction (1908) and in 1914 started a profit-sharing scheme for employees. Wunderlich was in fact a practicing doctor before migrating to Australia in 1900. However upon arrival in Sydney he joined his brothers Ernest and Alfred in the Wunderlich Patent Ceiling &amp; Roofing Co. Ltd. He concentrated on the administrative, technical and scientific aspects of the company. He became a life director of Wunderlich Ltd when the company united with Rocke.</abstract>
