<biogHist>
<abstract>Thomas Worsnop was town clerk, Adelaide City Council 1869-1898. He is commemorated by a portrait in the Adelaide Council Chambers. Worsnop was a member of the Royal Geographical Society of Australasia, South Australian Branch and the Australasian Association for the Advancement of Science. Before coming to Australia Worsnop worked for W. Bruce a wool manufacturer in Leeds then as a teacher, probably in Yorkshire.</abstract>
