<abstract>Harvey Sutton was the first Director of the School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine 1930-1947. He inaugurated Health Week in 1921, helped to organise the Father and Son Welfare Movement of Australia (established in Sydney in 1926) and was for many years president of the Sydney Health Week Council. He is commemorated by a portrait by Joshua Smith which is held by the University of Sydney.</abstract>
