<abstract>Percival Nye was one of Australia's leading geologists. Some of his many appointments include Government Geologist for Tasmania (1920-1923) and Director of the Commonwealth Bureau of Mineral Resources (1951-1958). Nye authored over twenty-five scientific publications and was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for his services to the field of geology.</abstract>
