<abstract>Kit Milner was Professor of Applied Physics, New South Wales University of Technology, later the University of New South Wales, from 1952 to 1976. He was also Head of the School of Physics 1952 to 1967 and Head of the School of Applied Physics and Optometry 1968 to 1976. His field of interest and expertise lay in the vehicle physics but his experience in research spanned many disciplines.</abstract>
