<abstract>Myles Dunphy, was the founding secretary of the National Parks and Primitive Areas Council of New South Wales from 1933 until 1965 when the body ceased work, and later was a counsellor on the Geographic Names Board of New South Wales.

He taught architectural engineering in the School of Architecture, Sydney Technical College from 1922 until 1953, then at the New South Wales University of Technology / University of New South Wales from 1953 until he retired in 1963.</abstract>
