<abstract>Robert Hill was an Australian nuclear and atmospheric physicist. He lectured in Natural Philosophy and Physics at the University of Melbourne between 1942 and 1947 and worked at the CSIR Radio Physics Laboratory in 1943. He received his Doctor of Science from the University of Melbourne in 1947. That same year he moved to the U.S.A. Where he worked until his retirement in 2000 from the University of California Santa Barbara.</abstract>
