<abstract>Henry Armit, who studied physics and chemistry in Bonn, Germany, went on to research immunity at the Lister Institute under C. Martin in the early 1900s. He was the founding editor of the "Medical Journal of Australia" 1913-1930.</abstract>
<p>Born Islington, London, 9 July 1930. Died Hunters Hill, 12 March 1930. Educated Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität (physics, chemistry) and St Bartholomew's Hospital London (MRCS, LRCP 1894). General practice, Torquay, travel in Germany, locum tenens, Wembley, London from 1900, research into immunity , Lister Institute of Preventive Medicine, external staff, "British Medical Journal" from 1901, organised British section, International Hygiene Exhibition, Dresden 1911, first editor, "Medical Journal of Australia" 1914-60, advised the company to establish 'The Printing House' at Glebe 1925.</p>
