<abstract>Maxwell Jordan was employed by the Olympic Tyre &amp; Rubber Co. Pty. Ltd. from 1948, became Research &amp; Administration Manager in 1976, and Administration Manager, Dunlop Olympic Tyres in 1980. His distinguished career was recognised internationally when he was awarded the Hancock Medal, Institute of Rubber Industry, United Kingdom in 1973.

He was active within the chemical profession, serving many roles including Honorary General Secretary of the Royal Australian Chemical Institute from 1975 to 1980, and was a Fellow of the Plastics and Rubber Institute (FPRI).</abstract>
