He was a foundation fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and chairman of the Medical Equipment Control Committee 1940-1945.

Born Malvern, Victoria, 30 April 1887. Died East Melbourne, 4 August 1949. Educated University of Melbourne (MBBS 1909, MS 1912). Honorary Surgical Clinical Assistant, (Royal) Melbourne Hospital 1912-13; Honorary Surgeon to Out-Patients 1913-27; Captain and Temporary Major, Australian Army Medical Corps 1914-18; Honorary Surgeon to In-Patients and Clinical Lecturer in Surgery 1927, Honorary Consulting Surgeon Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital Melbourne; Stewart lecturer in surgery, University of Melbourne from 1947. Chairman Medical Equipment Control Committee 1940-45; Censor in Chief 1933-43. Foundation Fellow, Royal Australasian College of Surgeons 1927, President 1943-45. In 1934 he assisted in the development of the Oral Examination of the College.
