<abstract>Charles Stuart collected plants in Tasmania for R.C. Gunn from 1842 and for F. Mueller from 1847. He was based at Launceston and worked as a nurseryman. He later worked for Mueller in Melbourne and collected in the New England district. The National Herbarium of Victoria holds over 7,000 of Stuart's specimens.</abstract>
