<abstract>Richard Rogers was consulting physician at the (Royal) Adelaide Hospital from 1897 to 1942 and a became a hypnotist of some note. He became a world authority on Australasian orchids describing over 113 new species and three new genera working closely with R. Fiveash and H.M.R. Rupp. Rogers's orchid collections are in the State Herbarium of South Australia.</abstract>
