<abstract>David Craig was a theoretical chemist who made significant contributions in the fields of quantum theory and spectroscopy of aromatic molecules, molecular crystals, quantum electrodynamics and chirality. He was foundation Professor of Physical and Theoretical Chemistry at the Australian National University, Canberra from 1967 to 1984. Craig is commemorated in the David Craig Wing at the Research School of Chemistry, Australian National University, opened 1995, and the David Craig Medal awarded by the Australian Academy of Science since 1999.</abstract>
