It is named after one of the greatest pioneers of the Australian IT&T industry, Dr. Trevor Pearcey. It operates in all Australian States offering State and National awards, seminars and meetings. Since 2004, the Foundation has awarded the Pearcey Medal for Lifetime Achievement which recognises distinguished contributions to the development and growth of the information communications and technology industry in Australia. In addition individuals who have made significant lifetime contributions to information and communications technology research, industry or professional development in Australia may be inducted into the Hall of Fame. This annual award is made to the recipient of the Pearcey Medal for Lifetime Achievement and up to two other people.
