The Australasian Association for the History, Philosophy and Social Studies of Science and Society (AAHPSSS) is a not-for-profit association established in 1967. It covers "all aspects of the history and philosophy of science and technology studies, including the history, anthropology, politics, sociology and anthropology of science, medicine and technology, science and technology policy, metascience, science communication, and environmental humanities" [from web site 21/12/2025]. Its mission is to advance all forms of research in these disciplinary domains. The Association has a representative on the Australian Academy of Science's National Committee for History and Philosophy of Science. Diana Dyason, the Society's first President, is commemorated in the Dyason Lectures, presented by a distinguished speaker at the annual Conference. The Association's journal, <span style="font-style:italic">Metascience</span> (ISSN 0815-0796) was published by the Association between 1984 and 1998 (and thereafter by a commercial publisher).
