The Cancer Institute was governed by the Cancer Institute Board of Victoria. The Institute is affiliated with the University of Melbourne. From their Web site, February 2002: "The Institute aims to provide facilities and resources of the highest quality for diagnosing and treating cancer, for cancer research, and for related education and training."</abstract>
