<abstract>In 1949 the High Speed Aerodynamics Laboratory was one of three new laboratories established at the Long Range Weapons Establishment in Salisbury. All three new laboratories were collectively known as the Chemistry and Physics Research Laboratory. 1955 the Laboratory became part of the newly established Weapons Research Establishment.</abstract>
