<abstract>In the late 1990s the Institute of Materials Engineering Australasia Ltd took the place of the Institute of Metals and Materials Australasia Ltd. It is a technical society of the Institution of Engineers Australia.

The institute trades under the name of 'Materials Australia', and publishes a quarterly "Materials Australia" magazine. Until 2014, it also published an annual "Materials Forum" that reviewed recent research in materials science and engineering.</abstract>
<p>From their Website, 2001-12-04 "IMEA, the Institute of Materials Engineering Australasia, is a technical society whose members are interested in the science, technology and engineering of all materials in manufacturing, research and development."</p>
