The Technical Co-operation Program (TTCP) was formed in 1967 when the Sub Committee on Non Atomic Research and Development (NAMRAD) changed its name. That same year Australia was asked to join the program which was run by the United States, Britain and Canada. TTCP had interest in developing defence-related equipment such as main battle tanks.
