Taubmans Pty Ltd was Australia's oldest industrial manufacturers of paint and enamels. During the Second World War there was a shortage of raw material so Taubmans had to branch out into other industries to survive. They manufactured amongst other things industrial chemicals such as ethylene dichloride and DDT. This chemical arm of the company was eventually sold to ICI Australia. Taubmans developed many paints and enamels for the automotive and white-goods markets. In 1989 they were taken over by Runport Pty Limited (subsidiary of Courtauls PLC).
