It carried out several years of silvicultural experiments before launching its first commercial pine plantation in 1920/1921. During that season, more than 60 000 nursery-raised seedlings, mostly hoop and bunya pine, were planted on 113 acres in three areas of the State - the Mary Valley, Atherton and Fraser Island.
