<abstract>Johns &amp; Waygood was established as a public company in 1892. It fabricated many of Australian landmarks including Sydney's Centrepoint Tower and helped pioneer the lift industry. In 1966 the company became a subsidiary part of Johns Perry Ltd. Johns Perry was taken over by Boral Limited in 1986, and many of the subsidiary company names were changed or sold.</abstract>
