Summary

The Long Range Weapons Establishment was established after the conclusion of the Second World War as a facility for the research and development of rocket-propelled weapons. In January 1955 the Long Range Weapons Establishment was amalgamated with other defence research laboratories to form a single establishment, the Weapons Research Establishment.
