Summary

The National Parks and Wildlife Service (1971 - 1987) was established in 1971 and was responsible for an array of functions relating to heritage conservation, animal and plant life protection, and conservation. In 1987 the Service was merged with the Department of Lands forming the Department of Lands, Parks and Wildlife (1987 - 1989).
