Summary

The Council of Agriculture (1891 - 1909) was responsible for the provision of agricultural and horticultural training, promotion and regulation in Lutruwita (Tasmania) from 1891 until 1909. In 1897 the Department of Agriculture Act (61 Vic No.7) was passed which repealed the act establishing the Council of Agriculture (1891 - 1909). The Council of Agriculture (1891 - 1909) was subsumed within the Department of Agriculture [I] from 1898 onwards.
