Summary

In 1979 the South Australian Department of Agriculture and Fisheries (1975 - 1979) was dissolved and its functions split across two new departments, the Department of Agriculture [IV] (1979 - 1992) and the Department of Fisheries [II] (1979 - 1992). The Department of Fisheries [II] (1979 - 1992) was responsible for government functions like licensing for fishing, fish stock management, and aquacultural research. In 1992 the Department of Fisheries [II] (1979 - 1992) was dissolved and its functions transferred to the Department for Primary Industries (1992 - 1997).
