Summary

The Department of Agriculture [IV] (1979 - 1992) was formed in September 1979 when the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries (1975 - 1979) was dissolved and its functions spread across two new departments, one being the Department of Agriculture [IV] (1979 - 1992). The new Department of Agriculture [IV] (1979 - 1992) was responsible for a number of functions in South Australia including agricultural research and science, application of bushfire legislation, plant pest control, and regulation of the dairy and egg industry. In 1992 the Department of Agriculture [IV] (1979 - 1992) was dissolved and its functions were transferred to the Department of Primary Industries (1992 - 1997).
