South Australian Department of Agriculture [III] (1908 - 1975)

Summary

In 1908 the Intelligence Branch of the Department of Agriculture and Intelligence (1906 - 1908) was transferred to the Crown Lands Department, as such the Department was once again called the Department of Agriculture [III]. In 1975 the Department of Agriculture [III] was dissolved and succeeded by the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries (1975 - 1979). Despite responsibility for fisheries being transferred from the Department of Fisheries and Fauna Conservation (1965 - 1972) in 1972 to the Department of Agriculture [III] (1908 - 1975) the title of the department was not changed to reflect this until October 1975.
