Summary

In 2000 the Department of Water Resources was established. It took over the water related functions of the Department for Environment, Heritage and Aboriginal Affairs (DEHAA) (1998 - 2000) and the Department of Primary Industries and Resources South Australia (PIRSA I) (1997 - 2011). The Department of Water Resources was responsible for functions relating to the Murray-Darling Basin, and water reform initiatives. In 2002 the Department of Water Resources (2000 - 2002) was replaced by the Department of Water, Land and Biodiversity Conservation (2002 - 2010).
