Summary

In 2011 the Department for Primary Industries and Resources South Australia (1997 - 2011) also known as PIRSA [I] was renamed the Department of Primary Industries and Regions SA or PIRSA [II]. The new name could be seen as reflecting a shift in the focus of the department which increased ties with the South Australian Tourism Commission. In addition, the State Records of South Australia comments on the relocation of the "Division of Minerals and Energy and the Division of Investment and Strategic Projects … [from PIRSA (II)]to … the Department of Manufacturing, Innovation, Trade, Resources and Energy (DMITRE)" in 2012.

Details

PIRSA [II] was home to South Australia's Chief Scientist.
