Summary

In 1997 the South Australian Government underwent significant restructuring resulting in the amalgamation of the Departments with functions including mines, energy policy, biosecurity, agriculture and fisheries into the Department for Primary Industries and Resources South Australia (PIRSA I). PIRSA [I] was renamed the Department for Primary Industries and Regions SA (PIRSA II) in 2011.
