Summary

In 1956 the Medical Department [2] was formed out of a section of the Public Health Department of Western Australia (1911 - 1984). The Medical Department [2] was amalgamated back into the Public Health Department of Western Australia in 1979. The split appears to have been a division between medical services and public health.
