Summary

The Department of Natural Resources, Mines and Energy (I) was a short-lived Queensland state government department created in February 2004 when the Department of Natural Resources and Mines explicitly took on responsibilities relating to energy. A few months late in August 2004 the Department of Energy was created and the Department of Natural Resources, Mines and Energy (I) was renamed the Department of Resources and Mines (II). While reference is made to an "Office of Energy" it is unclear exactly where this sat before the creation of the Department of Natural Resources, Mines and Energy (I).
