Summary

Universities of Ballarat and Newcastle. Her research focused on graph theory and combinatorial algorithms, and databases and data security. She published over 200 papers including significant articles on aspects of graph theory and algorithms such as the Train Marshalling Problem. Miller was active in the international mathematics community, facilitating programs for the teaching of mathematics to students in Indonesia, Laos, the Czech Republic and other countries, and being a member of the editorial boards of the Australasian Journal of Combinatorics and a number of international journals. She founded four successful and continuing series of workshops: International Conference on Combinatorial Algorithms (IWOCA) 1988, International Conference on Optimal Network Topologies (IWONT) 2005, International Conference on Graph Labelling (IWPGL) 2003 and GraphMasters 2010. Miller served as Vice-President of the Institute of Combinatorics and its Applications.
