Summary

On 1 July 2013, the new Department of Environment and Primary Industries (DEPI) was formed from the Department of Sustainability and Environment, and the Department of Primary Industries. DEPI is responsible for managing natural resources, environmental conservation, fire management and flood and biosecurity emergencies.
