Summary

Howard McKern was an analytical and organic chemist, Meggitt Limited, Parramatta (1936-1945). In charge of Chemistry Department, Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences, Sydney (1945-1960), directing the museum's research into the chemistry of essential oils and publishing over 40 papers. He was Deputy Director of the Museum from 1960-1977.
