Technical assistant, Pharmacology Department, University College London 1947-54; research pharmacologist, Wellcome Research Laboratories, England 1955-64; Head, Pharmacology Department, Reckitt & Colman Research Laboratories, England 1965-69; Principal Scientist and head of Pharmacology Department, Wellcome Research Laboratories 1970-75; foundation professor and chairman of pharmacology , Monash University 1975-90; professorial fellow, medical faculty, University of Newcastle 1991- .
