Summary

The Royal Society of Western Australia was established in 1914 when its predecessor, the Natural History and Science Society of Western Australia, received a Royal warrant. Other preceding societies were the Western Australian Natural History Society and the Mueller Botanic Society, each of which struggled to survive. The purpose of the Society is to promote exchange among scientists, through the publication of a journal and monthly meetings.
