Summary

Established in July 2001 with a seven year grant, the Cooperative Research Centre (CRC) for Coal in Sustainable Development replaced the CRC for Black Coal Utilisation. The CRC continues to build on the research of its predecessor. Its research "is underpinned by a focus on the three dimensions of sustainability - economic, social and environmental. Research is conducted in several research programs to deliver outcomes that: Inform Strategic Decisions; Improve Environmental Performance; Understand Coal Performance in Technology."
