Summary

The Department of Science and Consumer Affairs was formed in June 1975, replacing the Department of Science. It was again named the Department of Science in December 1975, with some functions passing to the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet, the Department of Business and Consumer Affairs and the Attorney-General's Department.
