Abstract

Describes the Institution's national level awards, following the review by Vice President Ken Kelsall, and following the restructure of the Institution into Colleges.

The Peter Nicol Russell Memorial Medal remains the premier award of the Institution. Open awards and specialty awards will be awarded by each college.

* College of Chemical Engineers: Open award - John A. Brodie Medal;
* College of Civil Engineers: Open award - W. H. Warren Medal;
* College of Civil Engineers - Specialty award for Structural engineering: R. W. Chapman Medal;
* College of Electrical Engineers: Open award - John Madsen Medal;
* College of Mechanical Engineers: Open award - George Julius Medal;
* General College of Engineering: Open award - John Monash Medal.

New names and medals to come into use in 1978 based on work done or published in 1977. The 1976 awards to be presented in March 1977 at Cooma will continue to use the old system.
